Customizing Essential Mod’s menus
Essential Mod adds buttons and other elements to the Minecraft title and pause menus. All of them can be customized with FancyMenu.
How to use FancyMenu
To get started, you should familiarize yourself with how to use FancyMenu. They have a great guide on the FancyMenu Wiki that will help you.
Using FancyMenu with Essential Mod
Once you're ready to start customizing Essential Mod's menu elements, simply open the FancyMenu editor to create a new layout or modify an existing one.
You should see all of Essential Mod's screen elements in the editor, including some you may not have seen before opening the editor.
You can customize Essential Mods's screen elements just like any other element on Minecraft’s menus. Simply set the anchor point and freely move, resize, or delete buttons. You can also change buttons’ various properties.
Additional Essential buttons
Additional buttons will appear in the editor and may not show in the actual Essential Mod menu. These buttons exist within Essential Mod but are not currently shown.
For example, the <essential_update> button will only show itself when an update is available for Essential Mod.
Even if customized, these buttons will remain hidden until Essential Mod needs to display them.
Essential button style
Essential Mod's menu buttons use a custom style, featuring a custom background texture and icons.
If you only modify certain aspects, such as the button's position or size, the button will retain Essential Mod's styling.
However, if you modify the button's placeholder editor text (e.g. <essential_wardrobe>), then Essential Mod’s styling will be disabled for that button, giving you complete control over the button's appearance with FancyMenu, just like it were a vanilla Minecraft menu button.
Player preview
The player preview element can only be moved, resized, or deleted.
If you want to use a different player preview element, like the one that was available in older versions of FancyMenu, then your equipped Wardrobe items may not display correctly.
