Minecraft mod creators pour passion and creativity into their projects, building incredible experiences for millions of players to enjoy, however, they do not earn enough from their work.
We are excited to introduce the Essential Mod Partner Program—a new way for mod creators to earn. Mod partners receive 15% of any purchase made on Essential while their partner mod is installed, allowing them to start generating extra income immediately and seamlessly.
At Spark Universe, we are a team of Minecraft enthusiasts that have had the incredible privilege of turning our hobbies into careers, and we want to enable more creators to achieve the same.
Mod creators don’t earn enough
Mod creators today can generate income through ad revenue, donations, and affiliate programs. Unfortunately, it often doesn’t add up to much.
Most affiliate programs in the modding community today, pit mod and modpack creators against each other, by making them compete for the same affiliate code revenue. When this happens, mod creators often loose out.
We believe that mod creators deserve to be rewarded for their efforts and contributions to the Minecraft community, and need our focus and support now!
We also respect the incredible work that modpack creators do, and are already exploring a trial partner program for Modpack Creators. We will ensure that there are no conflicting incentives between mod and modpack creators, so that both can be rewarded for their work independently.
How we support mod partners
It’s very simple!
Essential shares up to 15% of any purchase made while a partner mod is installed. When mods from multiple partners are present, the share is split equally between them. Learn more about mod partner benefits here: Revenue Share
With the addition of the mod partner program, we now share a combined total of up to 30% of our revenue with creators (15% to mod creators and 15% to affiliate codes).

Mod page banners
Mod partners are required to include a partner banner on their mod pages, to help spread the word about Essential’s core features and benefits.
Optional in-game integration
Mod partners can choose to bundle our in-game partner integration, which adds a small button and a simple menu that explains Essential’s features and benefits. From here, players can install Essential Mod with a single click—simple and seamless.
Players can remove the integration at any time by pressing “I don’t want to see this”.
