OptiFine

OptiFine is an established performance mod ideal for the Forge modloader.

Compatibility

OptiFine is compatible solely with the Forge modloader and is not supported on Fabric or NeoForge. If you are using Fabric or NeoForge, please install Sodium & Iris.

To identify which modloader you're using, refer to the bottom left corner of your screen.

Downloading OptiFine

OptiFine can be downloaded directly from the creators website:

  • OptiFine: optifine.net/downloads

    • Adding the Mod

  • Open the Minecraft launcher
  • Press the Installations tab
  • Hover over your installation and press the 📁 button
  • Drag and drop the mod into the mods folder
    • Locate the game directory in the Minecraft launcher
