Symptoms
In modern versions of Minecraft, you'll find the multiplayer button is grayed out if there's an issue.

Solution

Click on
Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety at the top.Set the following options to
Allow:- You can play with people outside of Xbox Live
- You can join multiplayer games
- You can add friends
